The healthy way of life is home cooked food. It
does require some effort, but no doubt, it is worth it all. Most
people find it difficult to cope up with cooking at the end of
hard day at work. But, with the option of the slow cooker, it is
not so much of a worry. And with most urban cities of the country getting the
piped gas connection, one does not have to worry about the consumption
of gas. Another option is the electronic cookers. |
Being an integral ingredient of plant life carbs are
found in fruits and vegetables. Though not a dietary requirement, as
such, yet foods without carbs are not possible. This is because carbs
are regarded as the actual energy source for the body. Those, who are
into a lot of physical activity, are recommended to eat carbohydrates,
come what may. However, those who lead a more or less sedentary
lifestyle are recommended to indulge in the low carb recipes.
In fact, body builders and those into aerobics and other such
high-energy activities, require higher amounts of carbs; as they are
sources of quick-burning energy. But then otherwise one needs to cook
their vegetables in away that maximum carbs are removed. Usually boiling
and steaming vegetables does the needful. That is why nutritionists and
dieticians recommend a lot of boiled food.
Even the carbohydrate content in rice can be reduced considerably if the
water is drained out before serving, rather than letting the rice absorb
the water, which contains all the starch.
Here are some interesting, and yet simple low carb recipes. They do not
take much time to prepare, and are yet delicious.
