Hence health, fitness, nutrition and exercise are four words that should become a part of an individual in order to live a healthy lifestyle. Dietary requirement especially protein requirement is much higher in a person who does a lot of physical activities as compared to others. Hence eating the right food is very important. Good health starts with a healthy diet and good nutrition. Integrating sensible eating habits into your lifestyle will help maintain ones future wellbeing. Good diet does not mean starving or eating less but it means filling it reasonably with healthy things at proper intervals of time.
Most nutritional experts recommend that one should eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, use organic and free-range produce whenever possible, decrease intake of junk and processed foods, consume fresh foods and whole grains every day, limit intake of tea, caffeine and alcohol, drink plenty of good quality water, limit intake of saturated fats but ensure sufficient intake of essential fatty acids, limit salt intake and use herbal or low-sodium salts and avoid preservatives and flavorings whenever possible.
A right diet and nutrition not only play an integral part in ensuring
physical health and fitness but in maintaining strong teeth and healthy
gums as well. Nutrition and dental health is very essential and cannot
be ignored. Sugar is teeth's deadliest enemy and is the prime cause of
tooth decay. Hence intake of sugar should be minimized as much as
possible. Sticky foods such as raisins, caramels, toffees, etc that is
not quickly diluted by saliva also set a major risk of dental cavities.
Also, insufficient consumption of Vitamin C may lead to oral health
problems like swollen and bleeding gums and loss of teeth can result.
